Journal Excerpts

From Butch’s journal:
The trip from Yates Center to Nevada, Missouri was 82 miles. I had a hard time finding Kevin and Doug that morning. The church we were staying in was very big, and they had found a room on the second floor which was very well hidden. They had a huge fan blowing directly on them, so they couldn’t hear us calling. When I finally did find them, they didn’t have enough time for breakfast. Needless to say, they ate rather well that night. We changed from twenty questions to password, and that lasted for a couple of days, but the scenery was getting better again, and we found ourselves enjoying the countryside more and more.

From Nancy’s journal:
The ride was fairly easy again today, and we kept entertained by playing Password. When we talk and play games, it helps to pass the time so much more quickly. We have finally gotten out of the flat lands of Kansas and into some more interesting country here in Missouri. There are a lot of oak trees and green grass. It almost seems like home.
From Tani’s journal:
I called home. It was really neat, almost like being there. They told me they bought a fabric store. They better not be kidding, or I’ll be really disappointed. I did my laundry, and when I went to the store, it was pouring, but it was warm. It was like taking a shower, not at all like B.G. where it is freezing.
